Organize your Tool Chest

You must have got accumulated tools and other items if you take charge of home improvement projects. You can organize a tool chest so that you know what you have and can find what you need. So don’t just let those tools sit in a heap in your garage. Trust me, the method in this article will help to make your next home improvement project even easier.

Things You Need

Heavy-duty magnet sheet or non-slip rubber mat (optional)
Assortment of clear glass jars with lids

Instructions

1. First you need to sort your tools by type. For example, you can make a pile of all the wrenches, another pile for screwdrivers and another for nails. Keep doing this project until all of your tools are sorted.

2. Pick out all the old broken tools that you no longer need and discard them.

3. Line your tool chest drawers with either a heavy-duty magnet sheet or non-slip rubber matting. Remember this step is optional, whether or not the tool chest already has lining. Because the magnet sheet in drawers can hold tools that might roll, such as screwdrivers, when the drawer is opened and closed. And then choose rubber matting for drawers with tools that are flat and will not roll, such as wrenches.

4. Arrange tools in drawers that are appropriately sized for what will be stored in them.

5. Bulkier tools such as hammers and flashlights need to be stored in deeper drawers than screwdrivers and wrenches require.

6.At last, sort small items such as nails, screws and wall anchors into clear glass jars with lids. And the jars should be stored in a drawer deep enough to accommodate them.

Tips & Warnings

Tools can be sharp, and you could hurt yourself digging for something in an overstuffed drawer, so do not overstuff your tool chest drawers because that could pose a danger.
