There are so many types of Android Tablet
in the market from hardware to software. They can meet your different
needs in daily life and work. Some Android tablets give you mobile
Internet access with a 3G or 4G connection so anywhere you have a
cellular network signal you can get online. If you want you can extend
that signal by turning the tablet into a Wi-Fi hotspot, you should only
need to spend a couple of minutes turning on and setting up the hotspot.
Instructions
Turning On the Hotspot
1. You can open Status Details” by tapping the time in the lower-right corner of the System Bar at the Home screen
2. Tap “Status Details” > “Settings” > “Wireless &
networks” >”Tethering & portable hotspot” > “Tethering &
portable hotspot” menu.
3. Tap “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot” to turn your tablet into a hotspot.
Your tablet will broadcast an open-access network that anyone can
connect to if this is the first time you’ve enabled this option. You
should go ahead and change the hotspot settings to make the network
secure.
Configuring the Hotspot
4. Tap “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings” from the “Tethering &
portable hotspot” menu. And then tap “Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.”
5. Input a name for the hotspot in the “SSID” text box.
6. If you want you can tap an option to enable security. An
open-access network is available to anybody so you should enable this
option. Tap the “Security” menu to select the WPA2 security setting, and
then you can type in whatever password you want for the network.
7. At last don’t forget to tap “Save” to finish the setup.
Tips & Warnings
Any data that you use on your tablet or that other people use when
connected to your tablet’s wireless network will count against your plan
so you may have extra charges on your bill.
If you decide later that you want to rename the hotspot or change its
password you can adjust any of its settings in the “Configure Wi-Fi
hotspot” section.
