Do you know about the Parts of an LED Light

As we known, LED (light emitting diodes) lights have so many advantages compared to other lights. For example, use less power, are more durable, give off less heat and last 25 times longer than a standard incandescent light bulb. Common LEDs are made up for four simple parts that maximize the efficiency by minimizing the heat generated and therefore energy wasted by the bulb.

LED Chip

The LED chip is a light emitting semi-conductor and the central piece of an LED light. The chip sits in the center of the bulb, surrounded by the other three pieces, and is the portion of the bulb that actually lights up.

Gold Wire

The gold wire’s function is to connect the metal pin at the top of the chip to the lead frame. The wire allows the electricity from the frame to carry into the chip which makes it light up.

Lead Frame

And what is the function of the lead frame in the LED? It is used to hold the chip in place, and connected to it by the gold wire. The frame extends through the bottom of the bulb and provides the actual connection to the electrical source.

Plastic Package

A plastic package is placed around the bulb, much like the glass of an incandescent bulb, to hold the rest of it place and protect and bulb and the user. But the most visible part of the bulb is also the part that serves the least in the actual function. The color of the plastic does not dictate the color of the light.

So now you have learned more about LED lights and it will be easier to maintain yours.
