How to Make a Dog Necktie

Sometimes your dog may have very special occasions. For example, the marriages and birthdays, your dog should absolutely look his best. Many people do not pay attention to doggy fashion because they think the things are hard to find and costly. Sometimes, it just doesn't seem worth it at all, but the solution is well within your grasp. DIY a dog necktie at home is simple, cheap and doesn’t even require knowledge of sewing.

Things You Need

Old Necktie

Measuring Tape

Scissors

Tear mender fabric glue

Dog collar

Instructions

1. Lay the old tie that you do not want anymore on the floor. And then use the narrower back side of the tie, and that will look good on your dog.

2. Measure 1.5 inches longer than the length you desire. Use scissors to cut along that line.

3. Place a line of tear mender on the back side of the tie, just at the length that you want the tie to be.

4. Fold the cut side of the tie down, sticking the top edge to the glue. Smooth into place and allow drying.

5. Slide the dog collar through the loop, so that the front side hangs down.
And now you can place the cute necktie on your dog.

Tips & Warnings

Though some dog ties are made with elastic collars, using an old collar is a safer, sturdier option. If preferred, the tie can be made by sewing the loop shut instead of gluing.
